Mic causes annoying buzzing sound by kyel
Bought the Turtle Beach X1 headset, worked great initially. GF was happy the 360 would no longer disturb her with sounds at night. However, once I plugged the puck and mic into the controller, all went downhill. I play on LIVE in games that needs a mic to communicate with friends (Call of Duty 4). Whenever the mic is plugged in, there is a LOUD annoying buzzing sound that won’t go away until I unplug the puck and mic from the controller. Without the mic attached, sound works great, but the left speakers had a tendency to go out intermittently. Really had high hopes for this headset, will probably return.

sound quality is not the best but its reasonable

Sound is very poor by G. David Gilliam
I bought these after my wireless 360 Communicator died. I have a wicked surround sound system attached to the 360 but I wanted the option to use headphones with a mic for XBOX live. Simply put, the sound quality of the mic and the headphones themselves is just terrible. I have no axe to grind with Turtle Beach but this is way below their usual standards.

As for the cords, it is a mess. You can setup things very easily but you still have cords all over the place going to several different units. I could live with that if the sound quality was better but that is obviously not the case. If you have to have a headset for a decent price I say go ahead but don’t set your expectations too high. Mine are going back. The Communicator is great for chat and almost any midrange headphones beat these in sound reproduction. For now I guess they will just have to stay separate.

Amazing sound on this headset! by Randy Silva
Purchased these today and put them through the test.

I came away amazed at how clear & most importantly, LOUD, this headset was.

Tested out BioShock thoroughly and it the quality was mindblowing.

If there is a con it’s that there does end up being a lot of cord length once you’re all set up.

That’s a minor quibble though as this is really the best headset for the price for the Xbox 360.
