Great product! by K. Morris
This is a great purchase for the cost! Simple and easy layout and has a remote! Works great for 720p and 1080i display! I use mine with an Xbox 360 and a blue ray player and my time warner cable box and I really believe there could not be a better product for the need of switching between them all, the only downside is that theres only 3 sets of inputs but for those of us with only three things its great!

Best priced quality switcher by DJ
I’ve been using this switcher for a year now and am still amazed at the performance. It is absolutely invisible as far as video and audio quality are concerned, meaning there is no coloration or degradation. What goes in is exactly what comes out. Switching is silent and immediate. It was simple to add this to my Harmony 550 remote and works flawlessly with it.

The only negative aspect I have experienced is that it is a relatively light weight piece. If you have all 3 inputs connected to even semi rigid or heavy cables, it can be a chore to route them all and keep the switch in one place. This is a minor but real quibble. I had help holding it in place while routing wires but if you’re on your own, I suppose you could stack a couple books on it while you run your cabling. The box is definitely heavy duty enough for that.

Bottom line, this is the best bang for the buck component switcher available.

You can spend more on a component switch. But I promise you if you do, you’re just throwing away your money.

This one is the best device for the job by rainbow glo
I looked at a lot of different devices and read a lot of reviews before I found this switcher, but this one has a remote that changes to the input of your choice, and has indicator lights so you can see which one is currently in use, and these 2 factors contributed heavily to the choice. In a multiple component situation such as what we have, we needed to be able to have more optical ports than our surround system offered in order to have digital TV, video gaming, and 2 other DVD players provide surround sound.

This unit was exactly what we needed, and has no moving parts like other switchers that are less expensive and prone to more wear and tear. It’s better look and solid metal chassis blow away the alternatives and has potential for long-term reliability. After 4 months of use, I am still convinced it is the best device for the job, at the best price for good quality.

Exactly As Described! by J. P. Coughlin
Purchased this item last week because I needed to add additional Component video & TOS-Link connections to my Onkyo AV receiver.

The instructions were short and straight forward.

Hook-up & integration into my existing and complex home theater setup took less than 30 minutes.

There was no loss or change in video quality to devices connected via the 3-Play, as verified by my AVIA Callibration DVD.

Signal input resolution changes between 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i is instantaneous with minimal flicker, and appears to only be limited by how fast my TV can process the signal resolution change.

Although there was no loss in audio quality as verified by my AVIA Callibration DVD and sound meter, I did need to re-adjust the audio levels connected via TOS-Link for surround sound and Left/Right RCA-jacks for use when it’s late at night and I’m not running my surround sound and only channelling the audio through my TV speakers.

I expected that I would need to make that adjustment since I am now channelling 3 inputs connected to the 3-Play switch, through the single output. Basically, I needed to “balance” the output audio signal connected to my AV receiver and the RCA-jacks connected to my TV since the 3 devices connected to the 3-Play inputs all have different sound levels that the 3-Play is accurately passing through to the single output.

I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with how well made the unit appears to be made, although the included remote feels cheap.

I expect most people will probably put the remote away and just enter the codes or integrate the commands into their current universal remote, so I don’t consider that to degrade my product rating in anyway.

The only improvement to this unit would have been to add audio gain functionality on each input so users wouldn’t need to balance or average the audio signal on the single output, but I suspect that would have added at least 1/3 to the overall cost in parts alone, so no-harm, no-foul as far as I’m concerned.

This is one of only a few products that I rate a 5 out of 5.
